Q:
Will a heavier broadhead penetrate further then a lighter one of the same brand and cutting diameter?

For the most part it should. It will all depend on your bow and how fast it shoots. There are many other variables that can effect it such as arrows and where the hit is. Physics show if compared with bow to bow shooting a 100 gr to 125 gr the 125 will penetrate further since it will have more force on penetration. I will usually test broadheads on a block target and mark with pencil on how far the arrows go in. Try it out.

I use 100 grain 3 bladed Muzzy's and a 28" Gold Tip and at 310 fps and at 50 yards it blows right threw the deer!

rage 100 grain broadheads have 1 inch cutting the 125 grains have 1 1/2 inch cutting

A heavier broadhead at the same velocity will hit with more foot pounds but the lighter broadhead go faster off the bow.

If that does not make sense just buy 100grn heads and you'll be fine for anything in North America.
