Q:
I asked a question a while back about a set of shooting sticks. I ended up doing something quite a bit different. I took a piece of aluminum tubing 24" long and drilled a bunch of holes through it every inch. Then got a piece of wood 24" long to fit snug but movable (3/4" square) inside it so it will move up and down. I put one of those U shaped things for hanging a garden rake on a wall and screwed it into the wood. I put a 1`` long chunk of aluminum tubing on the end of the wood and tightened it on by hitting it with a center punch just to keep the wood from splitting. Now I have a telescopic gun rest that weighs less than a pound that steadies me up for a shot. For kneeling or sitting shots it is great and I likely won`t adjust it often unless I`m sitting on a hill or something like that. It will certainly help on those early morning hunts when you have lots of time to shoot. Just thought I`d share this with you guys incase you want to make one for yourself.

Nice work ! Did you put this in the "tips" section ? You should !
I like your idea. After spooking two deer, when I rested my muzzle on the hole of my blind window, I decided I need a shooting stick. I think I'll make use of a worn out folding chair. Would you tell me what you put into the adjustment holes.
Thanks for the idea.
That sounds like a good one to me. Nice job. Definitely add it to tips and put some pictures in your profile. I'd love to see what it looks like.
To Buck-itswhatsfo....
A quarter inch thick pin 1 1/2" long with a cotter pin so it can be adjusted fast if need be. I geuss you could use a bolt with a wing nut too.
