I own 2 and I would not want to go less than 1000 fps. It will put the lights out on a large coon at very close range. Keep in mind pellets lose velocity faster than even a round bird shot pellet.
Depends on what size your pests are. 800 works, 1000 works better, and anything more really just increases the range that it will kill. (or further it will go if you miss)
It depends on the pest to determine velocity, but I would recommend 1000 fps to ensure you can take out most things. In terms of company I would suggest Gamo. They make great guns that I've used for anything from squirrels to coons.

I was going to say right at 1000 FPS.
Lots of good ones out there today too.
depends, 1000 is ideal, but 500 will do the job to 20 yds.

I would not go below 1000 fps
I've knocked lots of squirrels out of trees, bellied up bunnies, and downed a few doves with my 650fps pellet gun.
I would at least use 1000 fps to get the job done.
Thanks for the responses. I've got a groundhog problem. I'm inside the city limits, so I can't use the .22.

i would use the .22 they now make a CCI mini .22 bullet that is extremely quiet (no louder than a pellet gun) no lie, it can take on any sized rodent.
