do you have to have a special barrel to shoot steel shot?

Nope, modern shotgun barrels can all handle steel shot. Be careful using it in very old shotguns though as the steel shot could damage vintage damascus barrels with repeated use. Hope this helps.

No any shotgun barrel will work... just think, when they discovered that lead was killing waterfoul, everyone in the world would have had to throw their shotguns away and buy a new shotgun if steel shot would not have worked in their barrels. The world made the transition instantly and waterfoul populations rose instantly.

dont need a different barrel just make shure that your choke tube is ment to have steel shot out of it

no, sir! just make sure the gun is fairly modern. steel will tear up old shotgun chokes and barrels. your gun will be fine.
