Q:
Ruger SR40 or Taurus Millennium 40?? I have been wanting a Taurus for a while but the whole MADE IN AMERICA BY AMERICAN WORKERS has me leaning towards the Ruger. Whats your take on the comparison?

Definitely go Ruger.

I succumed to good advertizing and bought a Taurus -- which I swore I'd never do. I have not had a happy moment with the gun since I bought it 2 years ago.

The SR9 is a good piece, so go with the SR40.

I was leaning towards the Ruger. If nothing else, It was because I am not a huge fan of the gaudy TAURUS lettering on the sides of the gun. I do like the way they both feel in my hand. My brother purchased a S&W M&P .357 SIG about a month ago. Its a little higher priced then I would like to spend on a gun but I liked shooting it also. He is a volunteer Firemen and got a huge discount on it. I believe he said he paid $580 for it. I can't get the same discount though. The reg price was around $700 if I remember right. I like it but just can't see paying that much for it. So I guess it will be the Ruger.

If you are looking for an inexpensive 9mm, have a look at the S&W Sigma SW9VE. Lots in law enforcement use. Not a top of the line model, but works for me. Under $300 used in good condition. I believe they are the same in function and design as the M&P. Got sued by Glock for patent infringement. Mine goes bang every time. It also comes in .40 cal. Academy Sports lists the SW40 for $299.99
