I have some information about a couple of rounds. The Winchester 40 gr. jhp average 1880 fps out of my Win. Model 61 Mag. The Winchester 30 gr. jhp average almost 2300 fps out of the same gun. I have shot a lot of game with the 40 gr. load and personally feel that it's the best 22 Mag. round on the market. It penetrates very well and has excellent expansion. I believe that it used to be called a classic mushroom. I have used this round on game larger than I should but the results have been excellent. I shot 3 coyote this winter with the 40 gr. jhp and all were complete pass through. None of them went anyplace. The 30 gr load is the single most accurate load that I've ever shot and I have been a 22 Mag. hunter for many many years. I've never used this round on game but 007 said that it's sudden death on small game.
