Does anyone have/shoot .22 Hornet. Not the k Hornet, the orig. I recently decided to reload for mine. I was wondering about powder specs. I'll be using 45 gr. regular soft points.

I'm guessing it's a Model 43, which was a fine choice. I have a Ruger #3 in .22 Hornet, and I normally reload 45 grain bullets (usually Hornady or Sierra), and I rely on conservative loads of IMR-4198 or 2400. I have loaded it "warmly", and the accuracy deteriorated such that my .22 WMR surpassed it, grouping better at 100 yards. With conservative loads, the little Hornet still had more than enough velocity and performance to reliably dispatch chucks. My Hornet is equipped with a 3X scope and is normally fired in the standing position due to brush or vegetation, so I don't concern myself with the longer shots I take from rest, which I reserve for my .22-250 and .223. Enjoy your Hornet!
I have a 22 Hornet in a CZ527. Excellent firearm and very accurate with 45 grain hollow point Winchester ammo. My fingers don't work as well as they did when I was young so I don't like to load the small cases.
