340 grains to 1oz.
Sorry to fast on the triger.
I get 437.49 Gs 1oz
according to wiki answers 437.5 to an ounce
453 grains in a lb
I think upnorthmn meant to say 453 GRAMS in a pound. We are talking about GRAINS in the weight of a bullet.
There are 7000 grains or 16 ounces in a pound. You can do the math.
Thanks, Del. It still comes out to 437.5 grains, unless we are talking about troy ounces, in which case, there are 12 troy ounces to the pound. That might be applicable to the Lone Ranger and his silver bullets.
Del you are correct there are 7000 grains of powder in one pound of powder.
If you are shooting a 1 ounce slug it should weigh 437.5 grains, 99explorer is right with his math.
