I don't have reference works with me (I'm sitting in a hotel room) but, if memory serves me, the El Tigre lever action was a copy of the Winchester Model 92 and was manufactured in Eiber, Spain, but production ended before WWII.
If I'm not mistaken, the .44 Long was a rimfire cartridge, and I remember the El Tigre was chambered for the .44-40 centerfire cartridge, which is called .44 Largo in Spanish.
Are you certain it's .44 Long, not .44-40? If it is chambered for the .44 Long, you will not find ammunition for it because the .44 rimfire cartridge is long out of production but of interest to cartridge collectors.

Tigre is the manufacturer. I have a buddy who has a similar rifle. Its a copy of a winchester. Nicely made copy. His is chambered for the 44-40. There isnt alot of info out for these guns. If yours is a 44 long you could prob redie and reload to be able to shoot it. Otherwise Its a tough sell.
