If you were shooting offhand, I would say that was remarkable, assuming that you knew the range for which your rifle was zeroed in, and held over the appropriate amount.

Very respectable shooting. Use the same technique on deer and you've got venison in the freezer!

i was aiming right on with it sighted in at a 100 yards against a tree

I'd say that if you hit a 6" target twice in the center at that range that you are ready to go deer hunting withthat rifle! That is pretty good shooting.

Sounds like you got that rifle pretty well sighted in.

Sounds like your giving my Grandson Alex age 10 some competition! :)

That's good, I'm impressed, now stretch it out to 300 then to 400. Best place to do this is in a open desert canyon and pick out a small rock the size of your fist. You get instant results you'll know how the shot felt and what you did to do it. That's how I learned.

seadog good point! 250 yards with a 100 grain, off the top of my head will be about 3 inches high at 100.

Sorry but a .243 is good enough to hit a spot the size of a fifty cent piece at 250 yards. If you are up to it. I had a ruger M77R with a 6-18x40 and from a set of sticks or a bench rest /prone setup could hit .25 MOA. Now this was after working up a load with some 100 grain bullets preferred sierra HP BT and some 3031 imr I had to sneak up on the dead center on it but after a few trips to the range out back it would hold it just fine. Good luck and keep going. I do have two rifles that will hold less than .125 MOA out to 750 on a cold dead calm day. But only if I shoot straight north and south.
