ok so ive got a TC black diamond muzzleloader and i was thinking about going to blackhorn 209 powder but it says on the bottle that you need a certain type of breechplug to fire it. does anyone know why this is and can i use blackhorn in my smokepole?

Please save yourself time and a possible injury... Contact the guns manufacturer and ask them directlty. They manufactured it they know the components in it. They have a website or 1800 number and that is what they are for.

Also if you have the guns owners manual read it and see what it says.

86Ram is RIGHT ON here. I believe that the "black diamond" has a "ring of fire" breach plug on it so it should'nt be a problem. I've got to ask, why not use the "pellets" ? Not legal where you are or what ?

No, you cannot use Blackhorn 209 in the Black Diamond. I had one and I wanted to do that, but it is not safe and I did not do it. Instead I used a T/C Encore and it works great. Also it is SAFE to use in the Encore.

yeah that "ring o fire" is what i was wondering about. and part of the reason i wanted to go with blackhorn is why i didnt want to use the pellets. the pellets ive used are really dirty and make the barrel crusty. so thanks for the info guys, maybe someday i can get a good break action or something and i can go for that.;)
