This one's for the gunsmiths out there.
How many rounds can I expect to shoot from a new rifle before the barrel is considered "worn out" and has to be replaced?
To narrow it down, let's say I'm shooting a .30-06 bolt action and when I'm shooting, I always allow the barrel to cool down properly between rounds.
Compared to the .30-06, is a barrel's life expectancy less for the more high powered magnum and short magnum calibers? Thanks for the answers!
