What would be a good factory round for a 7mm-08 that would do good on elk?

There are LOTS out there but you will pay more for "quality" rounds.
"Fusion" is what I use in a .300 Win Mag. for example.
Nosler, Serria and like brands are what you'll be looking for.

Federal Premium 140 grain Barnes Triple Shock X-Bullet or 140 grain Trophy Bonded Tip.

Remington only loads a Core-Lokt in 140 grain, not the best elk bullet. Winchester loads two poor elk bullets; a ballistic tip clone and a power point soft point - deer fodder.

i use the remington core lokt bullet it has not impressed me... i have had 2 deer get away on it i hit a doe in the sholder and just break the shoulder and stop . i switched to the fusion bullets this year... i broke the spine on a buck and found the bullet no exit wound...

a 7mm-08 aint good for elk hunting try using a 30-06 or a 30-30
