I think instead of trying to make those kind of changes to a gun I would buy a gun that had the features I wanted. If I didn't have the $$ for another gun then I'd live with it till I could afford a gun with the features I wanted. Also trying to get the gun altered will most likely void any & all warranties the factory may have on the gun so no I would not try it.
Ask the Factory to convert it, if they say no listen to them,sell it and buy another gun.
