Has anyone ever had their rifle sent away and coated with cerikote or anything similar? How much did it cost? Was it worth it? Did it change how smooth the action was?
I took my new Kimber 8400 classic to Ultracoatings inc and had it cerakoted. I am very happy with the results. It looks better than the original bluing and is weatherproof too. There's a picture of the gun in my photofile. The price varies depending on the gun. Some guns take longer to disassemble and refinish than others. They do all metal inside and out right down to screws and springs. Is it worth it? I would have all my guns done if I could spare the jack.
Del, when you said you took it to Ultracoatings inc, do you mean that this place is nearby where you live and you drove there? Or did you ship your gun out and have them cerakote it? I just bought a Kimber 84M Montana and am interested in doing the same type of thing you did. And if you dont mind me asking, how much did your rifle cost to have done?
