Q:
I own a Remington Model 514 single-shot .22. It has no serial number on it, so I know it was made before the Gun Control Act in 1968. My question is if there is any way to determine the year it was made?

Remington firearms have a 2 letter date code stamped on the barrel. For example "U U" is 1949. The codes are on their website, FYI
