Q:
When taking my Carry and Concealed gun course several years ago,the instructor mentioned a gun cleaner, scrubber,or something along that order, that was a lot cheaper than buying the actual cleaner, scrubber. For the likes of me, I can't recall what it was,it was along the line of brake fluid and it was exactly the same thing except the labeling was different.
Does anyone know exactly what it is?

Maybe PB blaster, does a good job cleaning other things and breaking up rusted bolts.
P. Bourjilay mentioned something like this in a semi-recent articles on which semi-auto shotguns hold up best in Argentinian dove fields. I'll post it if I can find it. I think it was straight diesel fuel those guys were using.
i like hoppe's gun solvent. I am not sure what it is called, but I use a rope with a little metal brush in it and put solvet on both sides and barrell gets clean on one pass. runs $10-$15 or so. I wouldn' go too cheap, cleaner last for a long time and worth thr price to keep weaopns in good shape.
Kano Kroil penetrating oil?
Agreed with MLH and + 1 for you sir!!!
