Q:
How good is a 22 rifle that can cut playing cards between 35-40yds? I got a savage mkII f that I payed less than $130 for that can cut cards in half usually on the first shot, if not the second. Its as standard as it gets with a 3-10 scope on it. Is this exceptional accuracy for a rifle or just average?

Average rifle. Damn good shooter!
I agree with crm3006 - I'd say the rifle deserves some of the credit, but it didn't aim itself. Good work!
Good shootin! Can't be a bad gun either.
Agreed. Average for the distance, but a rifle is only as good as the person shooting it!
Excellent shooting with a fine rifle!
Rile and shooter are both very good.

The rifle can only perform well if you do! Good shooting!
Good shooting.
Good Shooting! Not a bad rifle, But a Really good marksmen!
Good answer above but The rifle is as good as the shooter..Great shooting!!!
Good shooting! I have a 22lr & 22mag that are both Savage bolt action rifles very good guns but as said multiple times above you can have the best gun ever made but if the person shooting does not shoot well it will not hit the broad side of a barn.
Its the combination of you and the gun. Thats some good shootin. I have a Savage MKII with a heavy barrel and im getting about half inch groups at 50 yards and about an inch and a half groups at 100 yards. It's a great .22lr.
averaage gun i shoot empty .22 mag shells from fifty yards with my marlin 925m with a 3-9 bushnell

JHawes-
To really test yourself, and your rifle, set up the ten of spades at 50 yds. and see if you can hit every spot. Then report back.
Thanks guys. I'll have to try that crm3006. It will be a few days before I can try that because of the weather. If any of you other guys have suggestions for testing your skill let me know, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again.
A fun thing to do with a .22 is long range shooting (100+ yards). You have to really work on triger control for that. Its great practice.
