Marlin XS7. Not far over $300.
Savage, and Harrington & Richards both have cheap rifles(new).
You can find cheap ones at the pawn shop too.
Good luck with this.

h&r single shot at academy
check your local classified papers, possibly place a small ad yourself, sporting goods- wanted, maybe someone has a good old one tucked away in their closet, and will part with it cheap.also sometimes gun dealers have consignment firearms..hope this helped.
i recommend 2 the marlin XL7 243 $300.00 new
or the stevens model 200 $300.00 new . i have both models the perform well for the price. thier are some great reviews on both of them at gunblast.com you can pick these guns up used at some gun show in ky for about $180.00 i wouldnt give more than that unless the are scoped. you can find the h&r or a rossie 243 combo package at sprotsman whare house and dicks sproting goods stores some time new on sale for $200.00 in 243 cail hope you find one deer hunter
gunbroker.com where any and all guns from all over the US can be found for nearly any price. Transactions are easy and site works just like ebay except that you need to have the gun shipped to a local ffl holder. The process is very easy and enjoyable. The ffl dealer will charge you a fee, $25.00 is customary.
Also deer hunter here is a list of other caliber's you should consider. 6mm, 7mm-08, and .308. All of these can be loaded down so a youngster like your self can shoot them with out fearing the recoil. look at remington model 7's used, 700's as well. Also savage makes good cheap rifles, T&C also just came out with a very affordable line. Remember to save some money to have your stock cut down to fit you.
As shane states, the Marlin may be the best cheap gun out there. Both Savage, and Stevens make good shooting cheap guns too. Try Dick's Sporting Goods. They often have Savages on sale.
I usualy find good deals at Dick's, Like steve182 said. I have bought quite a few guns from them for alot less than they were being sold else where.
Check out your local pawn shop, great deals can be had there, especially in todays economy.
gunbroker.com has some good deals
Marlin XS7, typically a good deal anywhere you find them.
Got my daughter a New England Firearms single-shot about 18 months ago. The local gun-shop ordered it for me. I think it was $230. Sweet little gun, it's a youth model, so it's short and light. Saw my girl drop her first buck dead w/it @ 100 yds. It's size makes it great for using in a ground blind too, where I used it to drop a doe.
Im not a huge fan of buying guns over the internet, but try searching gun shops located in your state. Even small shops seem to have websites these days. If all else fails start calling around to shop to shop you never know what you could find!
Save your money up and get a good gun that will last you a long time and will hold up over time. Remington Model 7...
deerhunter, are you sure you're 13? You seem younger. :) You should ask your uncle to buy you one! heehee Love, your uncle.
Agreed with Big O and + 1 for you sir!!!
