Go to sites like AR15.com or m4carbine.net to look for reviews. You can build Mil Spec ARs cheaper than what places like Bushmaster or DPMS offer. If you are going for a varmint gun then that's another story.

High dollar.. brownell's has a build sheet for building your own AR platform. I put 1 together last night. $2300 less sights for 20" varmint barreled setup. It ain't cheap

Never herd of Yankee Hill ARs, but now a days every one
is making ARs, Go with Rock River ARs they are tried and true! and wont break the Bank. PS, you will need some one with a FFL to order parts to build your own.

Only the lower requires an FFL. Take a look at http://palmettostatearmory.com/
You can buy a striped lower and a "rifle kit" and you have a very close to Mil Spec M4 for less than $600.

All you need us youtube and a couple handtools to put it together.

pbshooter, thanks a ton. Just checked the site out. Hammer forged upper for $379 is an awesome deal. Gonna order some things tonight. Seems everybody I know is going to this platform for varmints and I am falling behind times I guess.
