Mossberg or Remington pump in 20 guage. Inexpensive, good startergun and you can hunt everything from doves to deer with it.

Oh and go with 12 guage if you can handle a little recoil.

just a joke? you gotta at least get a .22

start off with small game if you know no other hunters. If you know some hunters maybe you could go dove hunting and squirrel hunting with them.

Both the .22 and the 20 gauge are good all around guns. although the shotgun gives you the ability to hunt birds, it is just as effective a small game and deer gun.

it all depends on what state you live in and what kind of game u will be hunting, if your going for small game start out with a 22 cal rifle and a 20 ga shotgun, if you are going for something a little bigger like whitetale deer then depending up on your states laws you should go with a 270 or 30-06 rifle.

i hope your joking about the bb gun... an NO, you cannot take big game with a bb gun. I'll guess you haven't taken a hunter's safety course yet, my advice is to take that and get a better idea about what firearms are appropriate for the game you're after. also talk to other hunters

20 gauge mossberg 500 would be a good gun to start off with for a different assortment of game but if you are just going to hunt deer i would go with a rifle such as a 30-30 or something on that order. Good Luck!!

I would definetely not plan on hunting big game with a big game gun pretty much a really bad idea. You should first enter a hunter safety course. I would then from there depending on what your hunting a .22 is good for woods around your house for only about squirrels so I would go with the 20 gauge which allows you to hunt a large variety of game.

I'd probably leave the BB gun at home if I was going for moose!

If you want to hunt deer, elk, moose etc. Get a 270, 308, 30-06. They'll all work just fine.

I have a Tikka T3 270.

Get a Thompson/Center Encore Stainless .22 rifle with a scope. After you have mastered this, move up to a .223 barrel and scope. .243 next. Then any barrel/scope combination that makes you happy.
