Q:
After surfing the net I came across this website ...http://www.armchairgunshow.com/stolen_guns.htm I was wondering if anyone had any of their guns stolen? If so, what were the circumstances? Did you get them back?

I've been broken into twice and have had guns stolen each time. After the first break in I purchased a safe which saved my good guns during the second break in. They caught the thieves from the second break in and they paid some of the money back and spent some time in jail but I never saw my guns again. The funny thing is that I had much more valuable fly rods laying all over the place and they went untouched. Lucky me. Now everything is in safes.

Yes, I have. 4 crack heads, including a female school teacher broke into my house in 1987 while I was attending a week long training meeting. I had the guns, 14 in all in a large metal storage locker. The collection included all of my childhood "firsts" including a 1960's Marlin 336 that was as smooth as silk.

Over a period of several days the group reentered my home (no alarm) removing all articles of value and also working to open the locker. They finally resulted to cutting it away from the wall and floor anchors.

My neighbor discovered them leaving in the middle of the night with the whole locker. He reported the incident to police, gave a discription of the car and the plate number as well as 3 of the 4 individuals.

I recovered only on firearm, a T/C Renegade muzzleloader. One of the bunch was caught trying to trade it to an undercover detective in another town for one crack rock.

I later learned that the home town police department knew who had my guns as well as the guns from several other unrelated robberies. It seems the chief of police held off on busting the group because they had a tie in to a large crack cocaine cartel and he wanted the big time bust. By the time the bust was made all the guns had been disbursed.

Yes I got robbed too, by my ex-sister-in-law and her new husband. Told the cops who it was where they lived and everything. They said they never found them and asked me how I knew it was them(they called my mothers house to confirm I was there). She(sis-in-law) admitted to it finaly, of course it was after statute ran out on the burgerlery. She told my mom she did'nt know what he did with them(Meth dealer?). Never got them back, luckly I had two at my moms for repair so at least I've still got those two.
