Q:
I have a Remington 870 Express Synthetic 12 guage with a 28" smooth bore bearrel. My question is when using a Undertaker High Density Turkey choke tube can I shoot No 4 or 00 Buckshot from it? Will this damage my gun?

Seth,

I think they even restrict the size bird shot that you shoot through that tube. Those are pretty tight and would probably be damaged by buckshot.

Check with the manufacturer on that one.

NO!!! I would not shoot buckshot through a turkey tube you would be better off with a straight full with the #4 buck and go with a Improved Modified with the 00 buck.

Not no, but hell no! It creates excessive pressure and possible damage to the firearm and harm to the shooter.

Modified or Imp Modified will work fine.

Thanks everybody. I have a friend that says he has shot No 4 buckshot out of his Remingotn 870 with an Undertaker choke tube. Maybe I misunderstood him but either way I'm not going to attempt it ouit of mine. Thanks.

Take out an insurance policy on your friend.....He may have shot turkey 4's....If he shot buckshot thru it he's lucky if he didn't damage the gun - and lucky he's not AFU.

Actually the more I think about it my friend and I were talking coyote hunting with shotguns and I'm almost sure he meant #4 birdshot not buckshot. That's probably what he was using with his Undertaker Choke. I know it's rated for #4 shot. So misunderstanding on my part. Sorry friend for some accidental internet slander.
