"I have a smooth bore 12 ga. shot gun (shooting 1 oz slugs) which I need to sight it in for opening day. The farthest that I can shoot it is 25 yards . . . . how high above the bullseye do I need to sight it in for to be dead on at 50 yards? Thanks"

With most slugs I've seen you should be safe with a 25 yard zero out to 50 or perhaps a shade more. As Coop would say, "it's all MOP", minute of pie plate that is...
yeah all that sight in 1 inch high at 50 yards and your zeroed in at 100 i dont do none of that i sight in at 100 hards with the muzzleloader and shoot to 50 yards see where bullet hits and then i shoot out 150 yards and see where my bullet hits and then i aim alittle high or aim alittle low
i meant to add the best thing thing you can do is sight in for the distance you want then push that distance and see where you hit the make the adjustments
