i know nothing about the 535 just the 500 it is a gun thats cheap relaible and durable u cant go wrong and the trade offs are so small u cant tell
dont know the 535, my dad has 500 and i have a 835, they are great turkey guns, never used one for deer, only turkey dove and rabbit
why not go go with a 870? better than a mossberg POS!
870's espeically older Wingmasters are the best pumps around except POSSIBLY Browning and Ithicas.
I have a 535 and love it. Definitely has the versatility you're looking for. With the right choke/load combination you could use it for nearly anything. 870's are good too, my Dad has one and has never had a problem with it, but the Mossberg is just as good. Don't be talked out of it.
The 535 is a 500 with a 3.5" chamber. I would just get a 500 with a 3" chamber or an 835 with the back-bored barrel, it's a little heavier. A light 500 with a 3.5 inch magnum in it kicks like the dickens, not to mention 3.5s are unnecessary.
