Remington 870 is alittle more than that. If you want a real nice reliable gun thats what I would steer toward. Another thought would be a Harrington & Richards single shot with a rifled slug barrel. I have 2 and they are great guns. Happy hunting and welcome to the sport of a lifetime!
remington 870 is a great gun. Its around 275$ new but you can get a used one cheaper. Mossberg 500, ithaca 37, h&r hopper model 48 single shot is a great gun too.
Remington 870 express magnum 12 gauge 300-375 dollars but well worth the extra money
Mossberg 500 or Remington 870. Both will cost you more than $200.
Just as said above, the remington 870 is a great gun but will go $50 over your price range. Going the extra $50 is a good idea since the gun will be good to you for years to come. Anything you are getting under $200 will either not work too well or will not be adequate in 4 years when you get more into hunting.
I saw an ad in a gander mountain thing that had the remington 870 for $230
If there is a local Skeet& Trap Gun Club you may be able to find a used 87O near that price, most of the guys there won't mess you over and you will have a nice well cared for gun. At my club on Ft. Leavenworth there are always MANY guns for sale.
200 buck could definately get you a gently used 870 if you do a little bargain shopping - everyone goes for the brand new guns rather than getting a perfectly good used one and using the extra money towards the rest of your hunting expenses
Those wuz good answers. please allow me to help with this. Make sure that when you get your 870, it is a 20 gauge with a vent rib. Have the forcing cone reamed. This could be the only shotgun you ever have to buy. It would have been for e if I had known then what I know now.
