No difference whatsoever. Just make sure you get the $30 rebate coupon with it.

I don't know about the 870, but I do know there is a difference in the Savage Model 10ML muzzle loader sold by Cabelas. The breach plug can be removed with a 6 point socket while the others you have to use the tool that comes from the factory.

Can't speak to the possible differences on 870's, but if you do buy one from wallyworld, will they fix a potential problem for you like a reputable gun dealer would?

Don't think so......

I am not opposed to Wal-mart not selling guns. Looking at some of the characters that haunt the place, I'm glad they don't pick up a gun or two while they are there shopping for their Huggies and spandex.

No Difference. I bought one two years ago from Wal-Mart and have had no problems with mine. You might have a problem finding the shells at Wal-Mart if its like the ones around here, They get bought up as soon as they hit the shelf. Like the previous guy who wrote about Wal-Mart not carrying guns, I think Sam Walton would be outraged, but if he was still around they would all still be carrying them.

There is no difference. But make sure you check to see who makes it and where it is made. BEcause walmart gets some cheap imports.

The gun issue isn't the only thing at Wal-mart that would make ol' Sam turn over in his grave....

Pretty sure REMINGTON would be the one to fix any potential problems. WalMart is a retailer. The discount is what you get instead of a backroom full of gunsmith tools.

Our walmart dosen't sell guns. I can't see there being any difference if the manufacturer is the same.

I agree with squaredneck though that after sales service may be worth buying it at a gun shop. However the 870 shot gun is tried and true and I honestly can't remember hearing of people having problems with them...that's not to say they are perfect.

I have some buddies that work at ruger down the road from us. The one thhing they have told me about the question asked would only affect rifles. Walmart doesnt take #1 picks on rifles and shotguns. Thats partly how they keep their prices a few bucks lower. Make sure you look it over carefully. Remington makes nice guns as does ruger. They have to sell their seconds somewhere. Even though its a second pick doesnt mean there is anything wrong with it. Just the way its categorized at the factory.
