I love my Marlin 30-30. It is as much my good-luck charm as anything else. I can't shoot 500 yards, but that is OK with me. I'm not in love with any of my shot guns sadly enough. My 20 ga 870 was my first, and has always been great for me. But I just don't have the same attachment. The others just serve their purpose. Still searching for the one.
I would say my Beretta Pintail 12 gauge, but I actually prefer to grouse hunt and kill more birds with my El'Chepo single shot .410 magtech. For rifles my Tikka T3 light in .243 is my go to gun for almost everything, from deer and coyotes, to blowing ground squirrels out of their holes at 300 yards.....never had a rifle as accurate with a wide variety of loads, almost any bullet and load prints a ragged hole at 100 yards.
Remington 870 Wingmaster and custom .300 Dakota. They get the job done. 25-06 is my favorite rifle caliber but it is not currently chambered in my favorite rifle. My favorite rifle did have three 25-06 barrels on it though during its life.
For visual effect, upland hunting, and reliability, It's the Winchester Model 1897. For get-down serious hunting in nasty weather and mud and rain and snow, I'm getting a Benelli Nova very soon. Between rifles right now, but I was particularly partial to a Weatherby Mark V Magnum, .30-378. I'll get another. Maybe I'll get another Marlin 1895 SS with micro-groove rifling. I don't know. Too hard to choose. There are at least 10 rifles I would like to have.
