Very much so, but i'm glad i have all of January to hunt Winter Bow. Will probably not get out much but am hoping to get out a few times and at least take one deer. I'm allowed a buck and a doe.

Nope, still have a year of hunting ahead, geese and ducks through january, focus on varmits all winter. Spring bear and turkey, then prairie dogs and varmits this spring as well. All summer it will be shooting contests and plinking in the hills till next fall when big game season comes again. If you look you can hunt something all year round. Also, fishing is tops for me, ice fishing now, then the spring thaw for ling and trout. Then catfish, bass, and more trout all summer.

I'm kinda like tneal, I'll be glad to sleep in a little bit. Bear season goes out in WV on the 31st, the 7th in Va, then we're butchering on the 14th. After that, I look forward to a quiet Saturday morning with a good cup of coffee, one of my wife's great breakfasts, followed by a nap in the lazyboy. If conditions permit, we'll ice fish, pretend we know how to predator hunt, do a little rabbit hunting, maybe call some crows, by that time trout stocking will be gearing up and I'll be hearing turkeys in my sleep. It's all what you make of it. Merry Christmas, all!

Winter bow in NJ can be the best hunting of the year. Food is king in January. May get up to Pa. for their late season and hunt a couple days.

007,
You forgot that trip over the mountain to swap lies, I mean stories with me over a cup of coffee. I may travel to Pa to chase some ringnecks. Last couple years the rabbits have been scarce around here. I would like to start hunting coyotes.

I still have five weeks to go and the rut is still to come. The season here (AL) is so long that I've learned to pace myself so as to not get burned out before it's over.

Like Country Road, I'm in Alabama. It's actually 6 more weeks for deer (till the end of January). Small Game season continues until the end of February. Special WMA hog hunts are in early March. Turkey season runs from late March until the end of April. Then the special WMA hog hunts start again in August. Of course, you can hunt hogs on private land year round...

I'm happy that it's nearly over because the countdown begins to spring turkey hunting. Yeah buddy. I'm taking the old man to get his first gobbler.

Hunting is pretty much year round for me. If I'm not hunting I'm practicing.

The grandkids are begging for more jerky so I think I will go to my son-in-law's place in Pend. co, and kill a doe this Sat. Probably use the .257 Weatherby. Weather is supposed to be good. After the first of the year you guys need to come over to visit some time. The strongest thing that I serve at my house is coffee.
