Q:
I just watched this show ALIVE with Razor Dobbs, and after watching for a half hour I was wondering if anyone else here thinks that this guys is an absolute idiot? IMHO he is doing more harm than good in the way he portrays hunting. And has anyone seen his commercial where he jumps off the cliff into water with a bow in his hand with an arrow knocked, and in the other hand he is shooting into the air with his pistol? Seriously...how did this guy get a tv show?

Unfortunately you don't need brains to get on TV...you just need money.

Same story with music on the radio. Example: Lady Gaga has all the talent the Good Lord gave a dog turd. Just show some skin and be weird and you are in demand.

I haven't seen the show you are describing, but TV is following the same formula. The more radical, the more weird, the more controversial, the more extreme, all that = RATINGS.

TV lost me a long time ago. There is very little that holds my interest except for the History Channel, the Military Channel, maybe some of Discover, National Geographic, some of the outdoor channels, and the Science channel. Heck ,my wife and I probably don't watch but maybe ten channels total out of 250 that are on our satellite package.

I haven't seen the show, "Alive", but after the topic comment, I don't think I'm missing a great deal and I will not seek it out. Just what we need - another example of idiocy with a firearm.

sgaredneck,
Sounds like you and I share the same taste in televised material.

I'm glad I've missed that show, judging from your description. I think I'm in good company with SGR and Ed J.P. on TV viewing. When I got my satellite, I said all I wanted was History, Discovery and ESPN (so I could watch college football).

I can't stand the idiots that portray hunters on television. Screaming and jumping around like fools. We are perceived to be neanderthals with machineguns and drool comes from the sides of our mouths by a portion of the public anyways, why do these idiots have to reinforce the stereotype! There may be well done hunting shows out there but I have seen any of them.

yeh, I saw it the other day on versus. I'll keep watching the versus channel because of the other shows on it but I'll definately not watch another of his shows. Maybe if enough people sent in comments about these idiots they would cancel their shows. I sent in mine

I saw it last week... It was aweful. He would shoot things with this bow and then take off running and pull his pistol (while still holding the bow) and try to chase animals down.

I saw the show to and I couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be a satire or not. Unfortunately I think he was completely serious. I will not be tuning in again.

I just caught this dude's show for the first time today. I'm happy that it's on during a deadzone of Versus airtime (Thursday at 1:00 PM). Razor does not embody the ethics and hunting standards I'd like to instill in my Son and Daughter. A 180 yard shot at a deer with a 10MM handgun!?! Doesn't that violate some game laws? Running with knocked arrows - bow hunter safety anyone?

I'm happy that my kids are in school when his show is on.

I think that Razor Dobbs has a lot of energy and passion for the sport of hunting. He portrays hunting in a real light not one of the hunting shows that is scripted better than some movies, it is raw and real, Yes he is a little wacky and wild but that is what makes it great. He reaches people that normally would not sit and watch a hunting show, like maybe younger people these days. I for one have seen the younger generation at hunting shows that are so excited to meet Razor and one of the only ones they recognize. So he is doing good for hunting by being fun and zany it reaches the kids and keeps them interested. I am not a big hunting show watcher, but will watch Alive, Killin-n-Grillin and Hunting Freaks, why because it is real and raw. These shows are the closest you can come to sitting around the camp fire are just outdoors with buddies talking hunting. I think this is exactly what hunting needs, hunting is not always perfect. I know if any of us were filmed shooting an animal people would think we were crazy with the way we acted, if we were not then whats the point without the excitement. As far as the comment on the commercials come on, he is acting, if this was an issue then every action movie out there needs to be scrutinized in the same way. This is entertainment and is suppose to be fun and exciting, not just a scripted boring show of a guy sitting in a stand hunting that has been filmed several times and edited twenty. This is hunting real and raw, if it is not you taste then that is OK, but i know the young ones love it.

He said his guide was absouloutly sure it was a male, but I think the guide knew it was female, but the mouron dobbs shot it any whay. To sum it all up, Razer Dobbs is the wors hunter ever, and if hunting is ever destroyed, IM BLAMING HIM!!!!!!! HEAR THAT LOSER DOBBS?!!!!

It's an appalling show that reenforces negative stereotypes of dumb, gung-ho hunters. I learned to hunt respectfully with my father and uncles, who taught me to always know exactly what I was shooting at and only harvest what was in season and LEGAL. No doubt Razor ignores this post site, so I suggest those who object contact his sponsors instead. Watching him brazenly kill a beautiful bull elephant that was "charging" was very sad. How about a hunt Razor show, where he is unarmed and contestants take turns hunting him for the kill? He is no manly man to me and other sportsmen...please cancel this horrible killing show!

While I was having a cup of coffee today I decided to channel surf to see what was on. I saw some guy hunting with a semi auto and decided to see what it was about. I watched about 20 minutes of the dumbest show with the biggest moron in the world. I did a search to see who this idiot was and came across this site. I agree with you all this Dobbs character is a menace to society. He is even worse than obama and I can not stand even looking at him. I also agree with DB Larsen that Ted Nugent is a disgrace. Both of these guys are worse than a bad joke. I wonder if Dobbs has been busted for Fish and Game violations as many times as Nugent. By the way it ruined my coffee time.

I only had an opportunity to watch 5 mins of his show...and I fully agree with what you posted...this guy goes against everything that we have learned in hunters safety and hunting ethics. I've never - ever - watched anything close to this on this channel, and would like him removed! What a disgrace!
