Q:
I want to get either a Remington XP-100 Pistol Chambered in 6mm BR (If I can find one) or a TC Handgun in the same chambering. I think that'd be a really fun little deer gun. What do you think?

The 6mm BR is an interesting prospect. If you don't have an XR-100, or especially a Contender or Encore, don't get one. That is a sickness you may or may not want to have. If you told me that I'd LOVE a single shot pistol a few years ago, I would have laughed in your face. Now I have all these dang barrels, and dies, and such.......

I don't have any experience hunting with the 6mm BR but on paper it's got as much to it as some other rounds people pistol hunt with. I hunt some with my 7mm TCU and 7-30 Waters a good bit and have taken deer with both. I like the TCU best(very accurate) but the 7-30 is more forgiving to reload and you don't have to form cases.

Have a friend with a 6.5 JDJ Contender. That one does not puss around. He's taken several deer with it and loves it.

Good luck.

i use a 44 mag , 35 remington and a 444.marlin barrel to hunt with on my contender . it is great fun hand gun hunting . the 6mm br should do well on white tails with properly placed shots . good luck finding an xp 100 they are getting scarce and hard to find around my neck of the woods at least , i haven't seen one for sale in years . may be on the internet, or shot gun news you'd have a chance
