Wait until you get to Alaska, gear is actually cheaper and of proper design!

Google up Mystery Ranch Packs in Bozeman, Mt. The Crew Cab is the best meat and gear pack made today, in my opinion.

eberlestock, black hills, kifaru are all good places to start. Hal's recommendation of the crew cab is spot on.

I meant black creeks, not black hills. Also, I own an eberlestock X1A dayback and its very well made. I really like the internal compartment for a 3 liter water bladder and it also has an integrated scaboard that runs allowing your back for easy carrying.

I would recommend the Badlands external frame pack.

Barney's Sports Chalet has the best pack/frame combo I have ever seen. Like a lot of the very best stuff; It's expensive, and yet, worth every dime.
I'm saving my pennies to buy one.
Alakan designed, it's perfect.
