idahooutdoors -- Just received my copy of Eastmans' Hunting Journal and read your excellent wolf hunting story. Congrats on the weatherby .257; you'll have to let us know if its a shooter!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the story...working with Field and Stream for an article on my wolf hunt and the wolf issue as a whole...what they have in mond sounds interesting...it should be out after the 1st of the year according to the Editor...I am looking at ordering some brass, dies, powder and bullets to work up some loads for the .257...along with optics...but it might be a while as the time and expense of this whole wolf deal has thrown my already tight budget out the window (not the best of times for Realtors)...but should be breaking in the rifle this winter....

Eastmans' rewards folks when they publish an article written by the "common man". Idaho outdoors was given a weatherby vanguard in .257 wby magnum for his wolf hunting story that published in the latest Eastman's Hunting Journal.

Have yet to get the gun in my hands, supposed to be a Vanguard Sage Country in .257....looks like it will make me a nice long range mule deer gun.....would have been shooting wolves long ago if I knew you could get a gun for it...Lol...
