Q:
which boot would be the best? irish setter black bear 400gram or danner pathfinder 600gram. ive heard that danner boots dont stay waterproof for very long. i have no idea about either of these companys. this will be the first pair of boots i buy that cost over 100 dollars. these are both new this year and i cant find any reviews. i want a boot that is gonna last me several years.

I am a RedWing man myself, have worn them most all my life and if you want waterproof go with a Gortex lined boot.
Buy the Cabelas Whitetail Extreme in 600 grams. I have them in 1200 grams and have worn them for 6 years and they are still very much waterproof. Another thing I like about them is they aren't heavy and are very comfortable. By the way they are GoreTex lined.
I have a pair of Irish Setters, not sure on the model, but they have been good boots and are still very waterproof after many years. They are GoreTex lined, I would not by a pair of hunting boots that isn't.
the cabelas whitetail extremes are in the bargain cave for 111, theres a new model out thats 159 the only differene i can see is the color. i did the online chat thing and they claim its the only difference. if i go that route i cant imagie paying 50 more dollars for the color of the boot, but i think its alot nicer looking so im tempted to. hmmm. i see that the black bear boots i was looking at is not goretex lined. so thats out. between the danner and the cabelas now.
i almost ordered the cabelas whitetail extreme but then i started thinking what if the danner pathfinder is alot better..so im waiting to hear more answers from you guys. which do you think is the best outta these two??
I ain't buying no boot I don't try on first, period.
I decided to go with the new cabelas whitetail extreme boots, they are offering a 60 day money back guarantee on these. If I dont like them ill get something else. Thanks for the replies.
If they serve you like mine have me you won't be disappointed.
I handle public relations for Irish Setter boots. Here's a product review of the Black Bear hunting boot in Outdoor Life for future reference. http://www.outdoorlife.com/photos/gallery/hunting/2011/07/12-must-have-h...
