Being outdoors and food. It isn't a necessity to feed my family though because we can get by without hunting so i guess that leaves just being outdoors, which was my first choice anyway.
Feeding the family is #1 with me ,horns mean nothing, they're just something thats on a bucks head, they're cool and all but after you get about 20 of them the excitment wears off.
Being outdoors and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the real world is definitely the main reason. Having delicious food is an added bonus, and if I just so happen to get lucky and get some nice antlers, thats just icing on the cake.
Being outdoors, it's almost like meditation or something, a chance for me to get away and be with my thoughts. And there are few things as exciting as ducks dropping into the blocks or a buck sneaking his way down a trail.
to hunt and to be outside. i love the thrill of the hunt and the felling of being in the woods. but if i didnt like the meat i would not hunt because i would feel bad about wasting it.
#1 is food for family.
#2 is being outdoors.
#3 is the antlers.
I love being outside of the steel and concrete jungle. We eat more venison (deer) than any other meat. I think it is OK to hunt deer partly for antlers, because if god didn't want you to like them he wouldn't have put them on the deer.
All three, but just having that alone time is theraputic. There is nothing better (except having my son with me on stand) than being outdoors, I don't even care if I even see what I'm hunting. You see something new damn near everytime your out there. Not to mention the fact that everyday, you can learn something from a new situation. God bless mother nature! And then there's Deer Camp... How do you top that?
I do it because I have to provide meat for my family. And I love to get off my butt and get out to explore the wilderness. I love to hunt. I t would be very very very hard to give it up.
I hunt to be mostly outdoors. It doesnt matter if I get an animal or not. If I do get something then I give most of the meat to my parents just to help them out a bit since there's 6 of us.
For the love of being outdoors and also, there is something about the meat that taste better. Maybe because im crazy but to me, venison tastes better than a lot of beef cuts.
All I hunt anymore are Roosevelt Elk. I love the area I hunt in, but more than that, I love matching wits and cow talking bulls. I don't fill my tag every year, but that's okay. That's hunting and am very fortunate to have filled the tags that I have.
I love everything about the hunt. if i have a chance for a trophy im taking it. but i will never pass up the opportunity to spend the rest of the year enjoying
tasty steaks and burgers with my family.

First its my escape from the hassle of a concrete jungle and second it's to feed my family. A trophy is just a bonus.
I like to get out and get my mind off the everyday things and enjoy some piece and quite, I enjoy the meat too.
For me it is being outdoor and management. Antlers are nice but i am not dissapointed if i dont get a trophy every year.
I hunt to help with the grocery bill.

We really only hunt to be outdoors, that's why we don't ever get any deer! But when we do get one its also nice to feed the family
I live for it. Don't eat it every week, well the fish I do.
all three and more
To get back in touch with nature and myself. The challenge. The companionship. The pleasure of watching bird dogs work. The meat.
All three, and I like seeing deer even if I don't shoot them.
The Rocky Mountains call me every day of my life. If I can't go to them at least I can look at them until another day off arrives.

I hunt to enjoy what mother nature has placed on this earth. I enjoy eating what I kill. Any trophy is secondary to the experience.
Mostly to be outdoors, but I also enjoy the food.
