Q:
I been doing some research on this UV filter spray/wash for your camo and can't decide if it's truly a working product... Is there anyone out there that has used this and had results?

I got into it several years ago. I bought the spray and the stuff you put in with the laundry. I replaced the bulb in my "hunting closet" with a blacklight bulb to test it. It does noticably reduce the amount of glow compared to before use.

As far as its results in the field, it is hard to say. I took several deer before I started using it and took several after. I don't use it anymore mostly because I ran out and was too lazy to order more. I have not noticed my success rate change.

I've use the detergent mostly because it was safe for the carbon clothing I was washing, and it's scent free. As for the UV reduction, can't say, but I've had multiple close-encounters w/clothes i've washed in the stuff. Plus, I got mine on sale, so it was cheaper than the other hunting detergents. (I'm a bargain hunter)

regular detergent has UV brighteners in it to make your clothing; well brighter. critters see this as a big glowing mass. use the uv free and scent free products. its not just detergent; its religion. never wash your hunting clothes or camp clothes in the regular wash. you get close to critters by 2 of 3 ways. you beat their hearing, their sight or their sense of smell. if you acheive all 3, then your invisible.

If you have a black light, take normal clothes washing detergent and put some on a napkin or a cloth and turn on the blacklight. The spot where the detergent is will glow bright. If you take the detergent that does not have UV enhancers, it will not glow. From what I understand, deer have the ability to see in the UV spectrum much better than we can, and if you wash with regular detergent, you may glow brightly like the rag with regular detergent.
