I like the Haydel's DR-85. It is available with an instructional CD, and although the plastic is pretty thin, if you break it, you can find a replacement just about anywhere.

Illinois River Valley Duck Calls are made by a fellow who worked for PS Olt Call company for over 25 years. He is carrying on the old Olt line of very good and very easy to operate calls. The #66 from his company is the same call as the old Olt 66. This call is very forgiving and easy to use. Check them out at Cabela's:

K&H, Primos, Illusion Game Calls and Southern Game calls make decent duck calls at reasonable prices.

RNT Rich N Tone... That's like butter or molassaes on a biscuit Sounds good and well built. Good stuff. I'd go with them they're a little more but worth it.

I have not had the pleasure to go duck or goose huntin as of yet but maybe next year. But I do know guys who use these calls and swear by them.

When I decided to manufacture duck and goose calls, I bought several that I did not already have, just to evaluate them and see what I had to compete with. Faulk is a very good call with a realistic sound, due to the cedar sound board. It is not very loud, but should do the trick. Ducks can hear very well. I used calls like that when I was young if the ducks didn't see the decoys first.Mine cost $99. You might want to look at them just for fun. They are the best calls money can buy and they are totally classic.http://duckcallsgoosecalls.com/
