I would go with mostly mallards. Drake and hen sets. Toss in a few wood ducks if they are common in your area. I used to throw out a goose or two when I was into it alot. I have to get some new decoys. Gettin back into it now.
I would get mainly mallards also. I live in Green Bay and I mainly shoot mallards. I have seen many mallards and wood ducks in northern Wisconsin so I would go with those two species.
Mallards would be a great start. I am in Northwest Wisconsin. You see a little bit over everything. This year, there has been a lot of woodies. Get some of them and maybe a few teal.
Geese are also a good addition because the size will help draw attenetion to your spread.
Depends on where you plan to hunt, marsh or big water. Regardless you should get some mallard decoys, but if your going to hunt big water, might want to get some bluebill decoys, and possibly some goose decoys as well.
if youre water source freezes look at full body mallards and geese if you are on a tight budget shells are fine. but definatly mostly mallards but just buy other common ducks and go with Greenhead gear

wood ducks, mallards, blue bills i live in crivitz and hunt on the peshtigo river area
I would say mallards mostly, but i have thrown in a blue heron for a confidence booster for ducks to make it look like a normal setting.
I'd vote for mallards too... the other species will come into mallard decoys with no problem.

mallards and teal
Bluebills. Wait until the first Winter blast and drop everything and go!
