If the turkeys have wiped out the other birds, they will be just as rough on grouse. They compete directly and turkey have a history of decimating grouse populations.
like shane said.
grouse are more finicky than pheasants and hard to maintain where they occur naturally i do not think an introduction would prosper.
I assume that you are smart, or at least not an idiot but just in case you are. Don't introduce a new species into the ecosystem without talking to Fish and Game. Heavy fines and really screwing things up are possible, I assume that you already knew that but I am surprised at the illegal introduction and stocking that happens around where I live.
Not a good idea!
does ball pythons in florida ring a bell?
asiatic deer in VA's swamps
Chinese snakehead fish
Carp?
What about cane toads?
Any of those ring a bell they have destroying entire ecosystems with no natural predators / checks and balances
Turkeys don't eat pheasants or quail, they eat grain and insects. Take a biology class, read a book, don't be ignorant. Pheasant and quail declines have more to do with reduction of farmland and increases in woodlands. Which, by the way, favors turkeys.
fishfearmeis they dont eat them your right THEY DESTROY TTHIER HABITAT, NESTS AND EGGS WHEN FOUND!!!!! GET YOUR BIOLOGY BOOK OUT GENIUS.
