Q:
I am contemplating a cast and blast on opening weekend for Quail in Arizona. Anyone ever hunt the Bloody Basin area near the Verde river in Arizona? We would prefer to hunt near the river to give the dog ample chances to stay cool. I expect the fishing to be fair to good for smallies and cats, but how does the quail population look?

By the way, hunting quail in the Bloody Basin is a waste of gas and time; BUN DAR & DUN DAT!

If you have a good 4x4 and able to run the washes, go up on 93 towards Wickenburg and hunt west/southwest of US 93 on BLM land of the foot hills of the Vulture Mountain Range or down around Florence. Bloody Basin is a waist of time!!

Now if I'm right, you just may find Javelina Latitude: Latitude: 34.1107N and Longitude: 111.7650W downhill in those draws. Thats where we have taken several in the past.

GOOD LUCK!

There's always tons of quail in Arizona. But the cacti will ruin yore dawg.
