Q:
I'm excited, I haven't gotten out bow hunting at all this year so I'm going for the next best thing...It's Grouse season on Saturday and I'm hopping on that! Just wondering how everyone did on them if your season started yet...

I WAS going to be there bright and early opening (Ga firearms)day...I had two gigs pop up so I'm on the road through the weekend. Monday will now be my opening day (boooohisss). I will be thinking of all of y'all hunting this weekend while I am dealing with drunks in Tuscaloosa. Maybe I will look into getting an Alabama license this Fall.

Have fun. Grouse comes second to nothing for fun - king of game birds, after all. It's been a great season for grouse and woodcock in Michigan ... but I won't admit to how many we've bagged.

terrible grouse hunting here for last 2 seasons.2 wet cold springs did a real number on clutch success rates.

after my last post I went out grousing, didnt see any ruffed grouse, but did see 3 spruce grouse."sprucies" are smaller than ruffed grouse and not nearly as good eating, having a strong spruce taste.
