Q:
Anyone out there see an ALBINO TURKEY? Driving the other morning on a country road in a protected area, crossing the road was a flock of turkeys. In the flock was a WHITE BIRD with BLACK WINGS. Except for the white feathers, to looked like any other turkey in the flock. It happened too fast to get a picture. No one I ask, has ever heard of a white turkey?

It wouldn't be albino due to the black wings....albinos lack all pigment. Its quite possible it was a white, wild turkey. I've heard of them before.

I saw a few albino, or maybe salt and pepper like turkeys on a farm I hunt, of course it was not turkey season. It would make a sweet mount

Seen a flock of wild white barred turkey in Lenore,Tenn during an ASA shoot. All white with black barred feathers.Looked like a Marriem(spell check) except reversed. Not a turkey hunter though so can't tell you what the name is.

That bird was not an Albino but what is termed a Smokey Gray. That is a fairly common mutation in wild turkeys and I've seen several over the years.

Probably escaped from a Butter Ball or Tyson truck that overturned.
