Q:
I live in Wisconsin and am new to Turkey hunting. I looked at the regulations and it talks about applying for a permit. Do I have to do this to obtain a license or do I just go to a store that sells tags and pick one up like during deer season. I would appreciate any help.

You have to apply for a permit and if you get drawn, you can then purchase the license. After the drawing, they sell the remaining tags over the counter.

For the Spring seasons you need to apply by Dec. but you can still get fall permits for this year. Also beginning 10 am on March 22 the DNR will sell off the remaining tags that weren't claimed in the drawings.
