If you have ever made your own turkey friction box before, what type of wood did you use?

I make my calls out of red cedar for the best tones. I use slate for the striker.

I make a scratch box out of peruvian walnut and the striker plate is cedar and the striker is pine. Ive been making my calls for a couple years and they sound great. Ive sold over 300 on ebay and at sportsman shows.
