Q:
While I was practicing with my diaphragm calls today I found I could mimic a squirrel barking with my H.S. Strut Cutt'n 2.5 call. What I was wondering is have any of you been able to do this with your calls, and if so will it work as a locator call for turkey hunting and work for drawing out squirrels for squirrel hunting as well.

It also works with the H.S. Strut Two Timer diaphragm call as well.
The only thing I've tried other than turkey calls is a coyote howl. I did pretty good, but it screwed up the caller, so I haven't done it since. That Cutt'n 2.5 is one fine call. It's my favorite.
i dont know about calling squirrels , but they do ok as a rabbit in distress call for yote's .
My brother can make squirrel calls and crow calls. I can make a elk bugle, to some extent.
The last few years I have just about stopped using diaphram calls. They wear out fast and well..I just rather use a box.
