Q:
Check out the photo under my user name. Newest one shows what you can do with a GPS, which we were discussing. The track, a black line with dots on it, shows how far I walked this day, hunting squirrels but also trying to find turkey sign, which is why I walked so far, the GPS said I walked about 7 miles but this has to be approximated as it has you moving slightly when you arent, I'd say about 6 miles. The landmark symbols have no particular meaning, I just want them to be unique.

That is excellent. What do the small black dots along the line represent. It seems that some are closer and some are farther away. I've been thinking about getting a GPS. Haven't really gotten out of my element yet though. I'll probably get one when I start hunting out of state on public lands.

they are automatically recorded and strewn along the track. So for example when I stop and eat lunch you can probably guess where [g]. The regular landmarks that are not on the track are from previous visits.
