A Rem 870 I would use 2s or BBs they should get the job done for you or you can get some Hevi Shot or Kent Mattrix.

Remington 870 (magnum for 3 1/2s) is your best bet. Its reasonably priced and a good gun. For geese i've used anything from 3s to BBs (or bigger). Any steel shot shells will do fine, even cheaper ones will kill geese.

NEF 10 gauge. Big and heavy, will clobber geese, super cheap.

Rem 870 express 3 1/2 mag. little more than reg 870 but get you the capability of 3 1/2s. In nh we have to use steel shot rather than lead for waterfowl. Heavi-shot works great they have a new one that has a ridge on the sides for better cutting and wounds.

You can get a previously-owned Winchester 1300 Speed Pump on Gunbroker for $200. They were very good, and are still preferred by many law enforcement agencies because they are reliable and you can shoot them so fast. They are back by popular demand, but you may want one made in the USA.
