Thanksgiving is soon upon us and turkeys dreading it everywhere (PETA also), so what I want to know is there anyplace in America that has turkey season on or around Thanksgiving?

Iowa's fall turkey season is open on Thanksgiving.

In Oklahoma, it's open to archers from October to January. Guns are only for the first half of November. Actually, tomorrow is the first day for turkey guns.

PA does! I could hunt turkey Thanksgiving morning if I wanted... but that is when we gather to sight in the rifles for deer rifle opener the following Monday.

Our fall turkey season here in WV goes out the Sat. before Thanksgiving because our buck season starts the Mon. before Thanksgiving.

Mississippi has a limited fall turkey season. Private landowners who fill in the appropriate paperwork can take two of either sex.

Nebraska fall turkey season in open until January 31st.You can get two turkeys per permit and purchase multiple permits. Either gender. And the turkey population is exploding.

Mass season ends the first week in november. A turkey should keep in the freezer for the 3 weeks between then and thanksgiving.
