They don't bother me. I wear double holster 6 shooters, and blast them out of the air before they get 1/2 way to me. Left side of the boat? left hand draw. Right side of the boat?..right hand draw. And the beauty of it all is...not many fellas hunt ducks around me. I usually have it all to myself.
I say count your blessings. Asian carp are actually some good eatins. And the best part is the fact that to catch em, ya just gotta drive the boat! So keep a little club in the boat and WHAM! in the head; free supper.
A Billie Jean King tennis racket. Knock em back into the water, with your back hand swing.
As soon as they hit the platform, WHAM!! You stab em with a pitch fork!!!! When the day is done, you take your wife for a nice "relaxing" boat ride. If you were hitting the carp hard enough your wife should recommend you get a new boat within minutes.
I agree with Mathew... they are delicious. They taste quite a bit like Red Snapper or Grouper. I suggest you give up on the ducks that taste more like sawdust and stalk the grass carp. Get yourself a bow and harpoon arrow and have FUN! I love duck hunting but grass carp hunting is a close second and the dinners are MUCH better.
Not grass carp. These are Asian carp. Big fish that jump very high out of water and can be very dangerous. Dealing with them is in no way a blessing or lucky.
Kill all of them you can - they compete with the other sport fish.
