Anybody know why it is illegal to shoot dove in iowa

Maybe the P.E.T.A got a law passed to outlaw it !

Same reason you can't hunt deer w/ rifles in Iowa, WHO THE HELL KNOWS WHY?

you can hunt with rifles in the lower 2 tiers and the reason is that it is hilly there the rest of iowa for the main part is flat and more heavily populated. In hilly gorund there is only so far a bulet can go before it runs in to somting on flat ground it can go a lot futher in creacin the cance of hitting somthing important not a very good reason but it is all i can come up with

It may be a bird of peace but enough of em and some noodles and alfredo they are pretty tasty...

To answer the original question that makes no sense in Indiana they are like freakin pigeons but the state this year made you get a waterfowl stamp for em makes no sense.

in whose mind could pigions be considered waterfowl here in iowa there is a season but if they are within 100' of bridges or buildings they are fair game year round. When i started using a gun we had a flock of 100+ pigions now they are few and far between

probally need the waterfowl stamp because they are considering doves "migratory birds". Around here we have to purchase a duck stamp to hunt woodcock because they migrate, like ducks do.
